Deborah A. Stauring, CFP®, ChFC, AIF
What do you like about being a financial services professional?
I really like solving problems, illustrating solutions and communicating with my clients.
In short, I sincerely enjoy being in a position to help and get things done.
How did you get your start?
Thirty-one years ago, I walked into Harold C. Brown & Company, a financial services firm in Buffalo, as a temp for Mr. Harvey, the president of the company and son-in-law of the owner, and never left.
What experience and credentials do you have?
I began working in the financial services industry in 1980 and have a strong background in finance and economics. I am a Certified Financial Planner® certificant, have earned the Chartered Financial Consultant designation from the Huebner School of the American College in Pennsylvania and have received the Chartered Analyst for Senior Living designation from the American College. I completed the requirements from the Centre for Fiduciary Excellence in obtaining the Accredited Investment Fiduciary credential. I am also a member of the Financial Planning Association.
What are your goals for your clients?
I strive to make sure they have a consistently high-quality experience - live life today while they are planning for their future.
What community organizations do you support or belong to?
I support the Military Health Net, which provides financial counseling to all military branches, and have enjoyed teaching economics and financial matters to eighth and ninth graders through Junior Achievement. In addition, I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Can you give us a glimpse of your personal life?
I am a native of upstate New York and moved to Buffalo when my husband, Richard, was transferred here with the Coast Guard. On weekends, I like to spend time with my nieces and Welsh terriers. I also spend my time golfing, which I am not very good at, and cooking, which I am very good at. Plus, I enjoy gardening.
