What do you like about being a financial services professional?
As a financial services professional with Winthrop Partners I look forward to assisting new clients and current. I enjoy being an active listener and facilitator by hearing about client’s hopes and concerns and providing a logical action plan to achieve their goals with monitoring along the way.
What are your goals for your clients?
My focus is the client and their financial health, my goal is to provide comfort and education to clients and their families by assessing a client’s risk tolerance and implementing action plans to protecting assets, setting the expectation for retirement, and possible wealth transfer strategies. By determining the state of their present financial profile and how they are positioned we can then implement the action plan to achieve their financial goals.
What experience and credentials do you have?
I started my career in banking at a small savings and loan, in Montgomery and Bucks County. As we grew I held various positions in Branch Banking, Residential Lending, Commercial Lending for over 30 years. Started in the Financial Services industry with a major wire house and became a financial advisor, which was the start of my second career. I graduated from Temple University with a BBA in Accounting and various banking courses to my credit over the years. I have a series 66 and 7 licenses. Now that my family is raised, I’ve leveraged my banking and financial services and also personal life experiences in helping clients as they proceed through their various life stages and events.
What community organizations do you support or belong to?
I am on the Board of the Plumstead Historical Society, Southeastern American Red Cross, Doylestown, PA Advisory, and the High Roads Multisport Club, Doylestown, PA.
Can you give us a glimpse of your personal life?
Originally from Northeast Philadelphia, I came to Bucks County at a young age and I’ve lived here ever since, currently residing in Plumstead Township. I have two grown children William III and Christopher, and a granddaughter Avery. I’m an avid runner and biker and can be seen training at Lake Galena, New Britain Township and participating in various local events throughout the year.Brochure Supplement – William D. Sands, Jr.
