America’s Top Financial Advisory Firms 2026 is a third-party rating conducted by Plant-A Insights Group in partnership with Newsweek. The ranking is based on data from SEC Investment Adviser Information Reports as of September 2025 and evaluated firms using multiple criteria, including asset growth, client growth and retention, adviser expertise and client-to-adviser ratios, breadth of services, and conflicts of interest. Only firms with more than $20 million in assets under management, at least three wealth advisers, a minimum of five individual clients, and at least two years of SEC registration were considered; firms with disciplinary disclosures were excluded.
Eligible firms were analyzed using a composite scoring methodology incorporating both short- and long-term measures. Asset performance and client performance were evaluated based on short-term changes from September 2024 to September 2025 and long-term compound annual growth rates from September 2020 to September 2025. Additional factors included the proportion of credentialed advisory personnel, client-to-adviser ratios, the range of wealth advisory services offered (including financial planning and pension consulting), and the presence of conflicts of interest. Each firm received a percentile score between 0 and 100, and the top 1,000 firms were recognized.
