What do you like about being a financial services professional?
I have a passion for investing and following the financial markets. It’s incredibly rewarding to build successful wealth plans and investment portfolios for my clients. Every client is unique; goals and resources vary widely. I enjoy learning about each client’s circumstances and drawing upon our expertise and knowledge to create a path to success. We like to say at Winthrop that “more money is made and lost outside the stock market than inside”, which emphasizes the importance of combining wealth planning with investment management. Improving our clients’ chances of reaching their goals is what I enjoy most about being in financial services.
What are your goals for your clients?
I want our clients to have a sense of comfort and optimism about their financial situation. Managing finances and investments can be a stressful and tedious ask for many people. It is extremely valuable to have an advisor who understands your unique circumstances and comprehends how market and economic events affect your portfolio and plans. A major goal I have for my clients is that they feel at ease knowing we have the experience, empathy, and expertise to guide them through all market cycles and life events. We also want to help our clients develop clear goals that we can work towards achieving. A goals-based investment program often provides better financial outcomes.
What experience and credentials do you have?
I began my career in 2015 after graduating from Bowdoin College with a degree in Economics. I discovered my interest in financial services through two internship experiences with Fidelity Investments and First Niagara Financial Group. I hold a Series 66 License and have held a Series 7. I am currently pursuing my CFP® designation.
In 2018, I was named one of Buffalo Business First’s “30 under 30” honorees. The award is given to professionals who are successfully combining career achievement, leadership development and community engagement before reaching the age of 30.
What community organizations do you support or belong to?
I am on the Ambassador Committee for Child and Family Services and am a participant in numerous fundraising events for local charities including the 11-day Powerplay for Roswell Park.
I am the Founding President of the WNY Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (“ACG”). ACG is a global network for professionals working in M&A, private equity, investment banking, and financial services. I began the WNY chapter in 2017 and we have become the premier network for professionals interested in corporate and economic growth in the region.
I am a member of the Buffalo Tennis & Squash Club, The Buffalo Club, and Cherry Hill Club.
Can you give us a glimpse of your personal life?
I was born and raised in Amherst and currently live in the Elmwood Village. After graduating from Bowdoin College in Maine I moved back to Buffalo and am thoroughly enjoying the rebirth of our city. I am an avid crossfitter, squash player, hockey player, and golfer. I am very active in the community through sporting, charitable, and social events. I am a graduate of Nichols School and have many friends and family in Western New York.
