Thomas Bunting is a Director of Winthrop Partners and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1971. Tom has extensive experience with accounting, financial planning, and tax matters for small and mid-sized business and their owners, as well as succession planning and estate planning. He as over forty years experience as a partner, managing partner, and senior partner with two mid-sized CPA firms. Tom graduated from Temple University in 1968 with a BS in Accounting.
What experience and credentials do you have?
I have been a Certified Public Accountant since 1971. I have extensive experience with accounting, financial planning and tax matters for small and mid-sized business and their owners. This includes assisting business owners and professionals with tax planning, financial planning, succession planning and estate planning. I have over forty years experience as a partner, managing partner, and senior partner with two mid-sized CPA firms that provided a full range of services to clients throughout the Delaware Valley area.
I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Personal Financial Planning section of the American Institute of Certified Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. I am a former member of the AICPA governing council and a past president of the PICPA.
I graduated from Temple University in 1968 with a BS in Accounting and was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, the national accounting honors society. I was a member of the Advisory Board to the Temple University Accounting Department Faculty for eight years and chairman of the Advisory board for two years.
What do you like about being a financial services professional?
I enjoy the opportunity to help individuals develop, monitor and update their personalized tax, financial and investment plans. I also enjoy assisting business owners with succession planning and exit strategies.
What are your goals for your clients?
To help them attain and maintain a secure financial future.
What community organizations do you support or belong to?
I am a strong supporter of Temple University, Philabundance, The Salvation Army and several veterans’ organizations. I am also treasurer of my community’s homeowners association.
Can you give us a glimpse of your personal life?
My wife, Carol, and I moved to an over fifty-five active adult community near Doylestown, PA several years ago. Prior to that we spent almost all of our adult life in Fort Washington, PA. We have two adult daughters who are married and live nearby. Over the years, both of us have been active in our church and various community organizations.
